I think me and my school friend were looking for weeks thru’ the internet for THAT thing. And finally, we found a whol bunch of Information about ASSASSIN’S CREED II, the second part of the trilogy.

UPDATE: April 17th, 2009
2nd UPDATE: June 3rd, 2009

ScrewAttack posted a Video about various new games these days, also about AC2. The part about AC2 mostly reveals every information that is known and confirmed. For all the ones who don’t want to watch the video, here the facts:

– The game plays in 1486 A.D., in Venice, Italy.
– The new ancestor of Desmond is called “Ezio Auditore de Firenze”.
– The whole game happens in and around Venice, but also will travel to the Tuscany.
– Leonardo DaVinci will be your supporter by creating various useful gadgets and tools for you.
– Ezio will be able to swim, also he’s got TWO Hiddenblades, also the second Hiddenblade includes a “gun”.

The gameplay is mostly the same as in the first game, but there will be 16 missions throughout the game, a bunch of unique Enemies, like Archers, elite warriors, “dagger-fighters”, also some heavy-armored soldiers with two swords (as far as confirmed). Also, there will be a lot more weapons, like axes, hammers, maces, spears, two different sword-types, a spear-axe and two different types of shortswords, an amout of 9 different weapon types. Also the Hiddenblades. Additional to the ability to swim and the old features, like climbing walls, you’ll be also able to rob the enemy’s weapons at purpose. The AI of the enemies has been refined, so they will also lurk in the environment and wait for you. As confirmed, popular victims during the game will be Lorendo de Medici, but also Machiavelli and Caterina Sofrza.
The bonus objects from the first part, the annoying flags, are findable again in the second part, along with statues and “gold pieces”, but this time, the objects will bring you real additional features in the game, and not just the achievements.

Release of the game is this year’s Holidays, currently approx. 240 developers work on the game.

Check out a considered Packshot and Screenshots from the new Game.
BREAKING NEWS: A special demo of AC2 was shown at the E3. It shows detailful graphics and a whole bunch of new techniques and tactics, like throwing smoke grenades, but also it shows one of the most impressing new gagdets, the flying machine of DaVinci.

At least now I know why TWO Hiddenblades.
I’ll keep this up-to-date.

Oh Jesus… Lots of eye candy, yes, interesting story, hmmm… yes, but hopefully there will be more variety in the game than in the last. I still can’t bring myself to be interested in the last part, even if it’s only 30 EUR. *sigh*

The new part seems to have a lot more options than the first one. Already 9 different weapons (including something like a flying gadget – as seen in screen), and the atmosphere…and the fact the is able to swim now :D

I’d also would recommend to play the first part really at first, there is a lot story in this game, and it would be better if you got background news from the first part. eBay has them for like ~15€…^^

Yeah well, we’ll see. ^^

BTW, do you realize that you found out more about AC2 than the combined editorial staff of “Games Aktuell” in their weekly podcast?

Really? Great!
But this was all because me and Daniel were searching the whole time for news about it, and later when I got the page about it, Daniel also sent me the link xD
I’m really looking forward to this game, it would be awesome if there’d be something like a demo at the gamesCOM.

[...] halls I didn’t see. A whole lot awaits: DIABLO III, various presentations of new games, like Assassin’s Creed II, Splinter Cell: Conviction and the new pay-to-play mmorpg Aion. And this is just a little piece. [...]
